Now being held in the national museum of science in Ueno park.1,400yen Reasonable price. For adult,I think it not for child.I entered 1 hour before close time, and thought it enogh for appreciation. But I didn't have enough time for looking around perfectly. Though it depends on how to look at,but I think it is better for you to keep about half day for this show. Every contents of this exhibition would give you extreme satisfaction,I think.
The most satisfaction that this show gave me was the experience of touching the great mass of gold ingot( pressed SUMITOMO ,name of Japanese traditional industrial congromerate ),And the corner of hanging the mass of gold ingot. Simultaneously exhibited silver ingot ,copper ingot ,and aluminium ingot. All of them are the same size , so we can recognize the difference of weight consciously. At any rate,gold is heavy indeed.Every corners are concentrated about the tale of gold in Japanese history. Standpoint of view is simply Japan. I had doubted about it, might be the standpoint of great navigation age of western Europe , but not. It’s pulled together orthodoxically.
The keynote of this show about the legend of Zipangu is “hearsay about glory of Fijiwara family”.
Though the quantity of gold product of Japan at that time was vast, on the other hand,it may connect with the fact that temple or other particular some kind of Japanese architectures were decorated with golden thin sheet. I think that some people invited into this kind of architecture might missunderstand . They might think them fully gold made architectures. We can see thin gold sheet in western culture only in the picture of shrine for example. But the idea of decorating all surface of architecture is completely oriental. And supporting materials , plaster, stone are not suitable for gold sheet, perhaps better for wood. Above all , only wealthy quantity of gold product would make it possible like this kind of idea in decorating architecture.
This time , Colombia , south of America is taking part in. Great many golden accessories are shown. I wanted to see this kind of item closely , but time was not enough. At first I couldn’t understand the reason why Colombia nation is taking part in this show. I hear that there is another legend of Golden heaven, namely EL DORADO. This is because people in Colombia wore gold made accessories popularly, nose ring, pendant,and so on……I think it is true that in Europe even the noble men had not worn gold made accessaries such popularly like people in Colombia.Gold was so precious in Europe at that time.
So European people were very surprised at the civilzation using this precious rare metal freely enough in the age of great navigation age , I understand.
Now Colombia seem to want to say us Japanese like this ,
“ Well…… the suspects of the legend of golden heaven maybe us , you Japan ,and me, Colombia. Do we give up? ”
so the greetings of ambassador of Colombia is a little difficult . And ,in addition, suddenly,
